Start here: There is no single size chart for every brand. The charts below are manufacturer reference examples—not measurements for every item in our store. Use the exact brand and style chart for your order. All chart measurements are body measurements in inches, unless stated otherwise. Size and color availability vary by style.
Measure first. Choose your fit.
Measure your body
Use a soft tape, held level and comfortably snug. Measure your chest or bust around the fullest part, your natural waist, and your hips around the fullest part. For bottoms, also check inseam: the inside leg from crotch to your preferred hem.
For sleeves, follow the style’s instructions: some measure from the center back of the neck, others from the shoulder seam.
Compare a garment you love
Lay a similar garment flat without stretching it. Measure across the chest just below the armholes and from the high shoulder point to the hem. Compare those measurements with the manufacturer’s finished-garment specifications.
Flat chest width is not body chest circumference. Doubling the width estimates garment circumference; the garment needs room for comfort and movement.
Inches to centimeters: multiply inches by 2.54. If you fall between sizes, compare the exact garment measurements and decide how much room you want. A label alone cannot guarantee the fit.
Men’s, women’s, unisex & children’s cuts
What the fit labels usually mean
Fit or category
What to expect
Men’s / unisex
Often a straighter body with more room through the torso. Classic and retail/slim cuts can fit very differently. Unisex is a cut description; it does not mean one size fits everyone.
Women’s
May have a shaped waist, different bust and hip proportions, narrower shoulders, or different sleeve and body lengths. Fitted, relaxed, and boxy options vary. A women’s medium is not a direct substitute for a men’s or unisex medium.
Juniors
A separate sizing category, often with a closer or narrower cut. Labels may use odd numbers or letters. Juniors is not the same as youth, and there is no dependable universal conversion to women’s sizes.
Youth / children
Proportioned for children, with shorter bodies and sleeves than adult garments. Youth XL and adult XS may overlap in chest measurement but differ in length, shoulders, and overall shape.
Toddler / infant
Use the specific style’s height and weight chart. “T” identifies toddler sizing; 24 months and 2T are not automatically interchangeable.
Tall / extended sizes
Tall styles add length according to the manufacturer. A larger regular size also changes width, so sizing up does not replace a tall cut. Extended sizes are available only in selected styles.
Classic: generally roomier. Fitted / slim / retail: generally closer to the body. Relaxed / oversized: intentionally roomier. Cropped / boxy: check body length and width separately. These terms are not identical across brands.
Reference size charts
These examples use Port & Company and District body-size charts, with Rabbit Skins infant and toddler references. They help explain sizing categories; they do not establish the fit of another brand or style.
Adult / unisex reference
For chest-based tops and waist-based bottoms. Check sleeve length, inseam, and finished-garment dimensions separately.

Juniors: check the exact style
A juniors small and a women’s small can have different measurements and shaping. Use the juniors style’s own bust, waist, hip, and garment-length specifications. We do not use a one-size-up conversion rule. Include the brand and style number in your inquiry so we can help confirm the appropriate chart.
Youth / children’s reference
Measure the child rather than choosing by age alone. The numeric labels below are manufacturer size labels, not guaranteed ages.
Chest or bust, body length, shoulder width, and fitted versus classic cut.
Long-sleeve & raglan tees
Chest or bust, body length, sleeve length, and the manufacturer’s sleeve-measurement method.
Tanks & sleeveless tops
Chest or bust, armhole opening, neckline, strap coverage, and fitted versus flowy shape.
Polos & work shirts
Chest or bust, shoulders, body length, and room for reaching or tucking in.
Hoodies & crewneck sweatshirts
Chest or bust, body and sleeve length, hem fit, and room for a layer underneath. A hoodie and tee with the same size label may have different finished measurements.
Zip hoodies & quarter-zips
Measure with the zipper closed. Check chest or bust, hip/hem opening, sleeve length, and intended base layer.
Athletic & casual shorts
Waist, hips/seat, rise, inseam, liner, and waistband stretch. Inseam determines leg length; the size label alone does not.
Joggers & sweatpants
Waist, hips/seat, rise, inseam, thigh room, and tapered versus straight legs.
Leggings & fitted activewear
Waist, hips, inseam, fabric stretch, and intended compression. Follow the specific style chart.
Jackets & vests
Chest or bust, hips/hem, shoulder room, sleeve length for jackets, and the layers you plan to wear.
Caps & beanies
Head circumference and the style’s fitted, stretch, or adjustable range. Adult and youth caps may have different crown depths.
Fabric, washing & between-size decisions
Fiber content, construction, stretch, and care can affect fit. Preshrunk does not mean shrink-proof. Follow the garment’s care label and compare measurements after considering how you will wear and wash it.
For a closer fit, check that all key measurements work. For layering or extra room, compare the next size’s finished dimensions. Do not automatically size up every garment.
Ordering for a team, school, or business?
List the exact garment style, cut, color, and size for each person. Write “Youth L,” “Women’s L,” or “Adult/unisex L” rather than just “L.” Keep adult, women’s, juniors, youth, and toddler selections separate. Ask about sample availability before a large order.
